At The Name Keep we want every list to be genuinely useful. These are the rules we follow.
Quality first
- Every name has a meaning, an origin note or a short description of the idea behind it.
- No duplicates and no meaningless filler — if a name does not fit the list, it is removed.
- Counts in titles are real: the number of names on the page matches the title.
- Names are grouped by type so readers can find what they need quickly.
Research and creativity
Names inspired by real languages, myths and history are checked against reliable references. Invented names are clearly fantasy names and are written to match the sound and style of their race, creature or world. We use digital tools, including AI writing assistants, to help draft and organize lists; every list is reviewed and edited before publishing.
Respect
We avoid names that mock real cultures, religions or people. Names connected to real cultures are presented respectfully and with context.
Updates and corrections
We regularly review our most popular lists, add new names and fix mistakes. Each article shows the date it was last updated. Spotted an error? Please tell us on our Contact page and we will review it quickly.
Independence
Our lists are not paid for by game studios or publishers. If we ever show ads or affiliate links, they will never influence which names we include.
